How Dare You…

I nearly lost it when I heard some one close to me say: 
“She’s the only one who has not gotten pregnant in the family. She deserves it all because she actually wants to do something with her life.”

ahem…. excuse me?  

That is a terrible thing to say especially about your own family. How dare you judge young women for getting pregnant! In addition… who are you to speak when all the young women in your life that you have been responsible for to protect and guide through womanhood and life have gotten pregnant at a young age themselves…
Who is to blame now?

i love you, BUT fuck you.
fuck you for being so judgmental and critical of these young women-including myself. I was and still am one of those young moms. I seen and experienced hardships you will never understand or could ever relate to.  I have overcome obstacles you were never brave enough to attempt in your own life & I did it without any of your help OR support from start to finish. I may not have followed the rules of traditions and society, but I listened to my heart. I admit- I took risky chances in love and other “heavy decisions” you may not be proud to brag about amongst your friends BUT I still managed to pursue higher education and graduate from college; my life- has just begun! 
So now.. how is that for “doing something” with my life?!

 In addition-What makes you think the environment and the parenting techniques you provided are not to blame? I am not pointing any fingers; i take full responsibility for my actions.. I just hate being generalized.
I hate hearing and seeing people look down on these young moms. Its hard enough experiencing the challenges of becoming a first time mom-at any age. Sacrifices come instantly. Restricted from enjoying youth and even attending school are just a few to name. You might argue “they brought it upon themselves” and maybe they had, but thats not the point.
Why must you feel the need to discourage those who are at least trying? Those trying to go to school, work, and be there with their children. Those who are trying to make things right… 

Instead of talking down on them, why don’t you recognize the good in what they do?! 
I wish the best for all the young moms out there, my heart goes out to you. Don’t let the hurtful comments get to you. Don’t let them tell you that “you can’t” or “you shouldn’t” Fuck them. Strive for the happiness and security of yourself and your child/children- for thats what really matters in the end.
